‘Examiner’ publisher announces 50 job losses

Landmark Media, publishers of the Irish Examiner and Evening Echo as well as several regional newspapers, has announced approximately 50 job losses across its operations.

The Cork-based publishing group, which employs 560 people, said investment in new editorial production, advertising and finance systems has facilitated a business re-engineering project which will see changes to work practices and centralisation of services.

Approximately half of the redundancies will be in the regional titles and the rest in the group’s Cork operations.
