Woman held in online fraud investigation

One woman is being investigated by gardaí in relation to a massive EU-US police operation tackling online fraud in the purchase of airline tickets.

The international investigation, coordinated by Europol, involved 68 airports in 32 countries — including Ireland.

The EU police agency said that 265 suspicious transactions were reported, with 113 individuals detained and 70 arrested.
