Charges expected after woman held in connection with murder of girl

Gardaí were last night moving towards charging a woman in connection with the murder of an 11-year-old girl in Tullamore, Co Offaly, over 18 months ago.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was arrested yesterday morning by detectives investigating the homicide of Emily Barut.

The girl had been found dead at her home on Bachelor’s Walk in the town on September 15, 2012.
