Despite crossfire, we are no nearer to target of truth in garda fiasco

ENDA KENNY fired the first shot, even though he denies firing the garda commissioner, but unfortunately for them, everyone involved in this bizarre saga has formed a circular firing squad intent on taking aim at each other.

A volley of shots has been sent ricocheting around the body politic, with the ammunition of choice provided by “sources close to” ex-commissioner Martin Callinan, and various other key players in the unfolding political drama which has plunged the Government into turmoil.

As none of the main players has seen fit to contradict the “sources close to” them, or seemingly well informed reports of their actions which have appeared, we must assume they are very close indeed to their own, individual, interpretation of events.
