Mixed fortunes for ‘Voice of Ireland’ dark horse Paddy

Donegal singer Paddy Molloy has had good and bad news in his quest to win RTÉ’s The Voice of Ireland.

The popular singer, from Glenties, is considered a dark horse by many.

And he received a real boost when a certain Daniel O’Donnell officially gave him his backing — all the way from Australia.

The entertainer took time out of his touring schedule to send Paddy a picture of himself encouraging others to vote for him.

Paddy said: “I would like to welcome the legend that is Daniel O’Donnell onto Team Paddy. He is very busy touring but took time out of his schedule to wish me well. Legend.”

But the bad news for the singer is that vandals have been targeting his campaign in Co Donegal. Paddy said posters have either been stolen or ripped down.

“This is very disappointing, especially from people in my home county. These signs are expensive and they are an essential part of my campaign. If you have them or know someone who has done this, please give them back and nothing will be said. If anyone sees anyone tampering with the signs please contact me or the gardaí,” said the musician.
