The price of homes nationwide rose by more than 8% in the past year, the highest increase since the boom.

Property prices rise 8% across country

The rise was not just confined to Dublin, as figures from the CSO show the upsurge in property values is branching out to areas outside of the capital.

National residential property prices, including apartments, rose 8.1% in the year to February, the ninth annual increase in a row and the highest since June 2007. Property prices are now 46.7% from their peak, according to the CSO index.
