The face of a shattered man put out of business by recent storms. Mike Foran, a potato and vegetable farmer whose business has been destroyed, is looking for an alternative livelihood, after being forced to close an enterprise developed over 15 years.

He saw all of his work literally blown away, with shards of glass from his covered growing site scattered around his land near Ballyheigue, Co Kerry.

The St Stephen’s night storm did some damage to tunnels and a glasshouse, but Storm Darwin, on February 12, wreaked utter havoc smashing more than 2,000 panes of glass and ripping through the polythene tunnels.
