Micheal Martin: Government has jackboot approach to parliament

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin accused the Government of taking a “jackboot” approach to parliament after it replaced this week’s normal Dáil business with Government ministers outlining their priorities for the year.

Over the week, ministers will outline their priorities and while opposition parties will respond to the ministers’ speeches, there will be no questions and answers as stated by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

A clearly frustrated Mr Martin said “three daysof backslapping by the Government is a farce and ridiculous”.
