McCabe welcomes barrister review of claims

Garda whistleblower Sergeant Maurice McCabe is looking forward to “fully” explaining his claims about Garda malpractice to a criminal lawyer appointed by the Government.

Sources close to Sgt McCabe said he was “very happy” that barrister Seán Guerin was investigating the dossier, and he expects to be interviewed “so he can fully explain what he knows about these events”.

The dossier given to Enda Kenny last week by Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin contains a sample of cases including murder, abduction and assault, that it is claimed were allegedly not properly investigated by gardaí.
