Council officials hope MTV will ‘crash Cork’

Hopes are building that MTV could “crash Cork” with one of its most exclusive live music shows.

Key officials of the city council’s tourism unit have met with MTV executives and pitched the city as the ideal venue for one of its free MTV Crashes events.

City Hall declined to comment last night but it is understood Cork is bidding against two other Irish cities for the gig.
