With deckchairs and flasks of hot drinks at the ready, and at least a reassurance that the floods were due to hold off for long enough, they braved the cold and winds and queued up outside Merchants Quay Shopping Centre overnight, determined to make sure they were among the first in line when tickets for the fourth show went on sale at 9am today.

Earlier this week, the country music superstar admitted he was initially reluctant to play four shows in a row at Croke Park because the extra date coincided with his youngest daughter’s 18th birthday. He only agreed when Allie Brooks said she wanted to celebrate her birthday in Ireland.
