Man jailed for mugging tourists

Two tourists visiting Cork were mugged by a local man who held a knife to the throat of one of the victims.

Edward Hartigan was looking for a battery for his mobile phone.

Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin jailed Hartigan for two years at Cork Circuit Criminal Court yesterday for false imprisonment, assault to commit a robbery, and production of a knife.
