Cork’s city manager has moved to ease fears about the completion of a €60m double flyover project on the city’s ring road while the main contractor works through examinership.

Tim Lucey was responding to concerns raised by Bishopstown-based Fianna Fáil councillor Mary Shields about progress on the N40 scheme.

Ms Shields described the two main construction sites — around the Bandon and Sarsfield Rd roundabouts — as “abandoned or ghost construction sites”.
