The threat of climate change - live updates from UCC conference

BURNING questions around what is perhaps the greatest threat to our way of life - climate change - will be raised this evening at a climate change conference in University College Cork. Keep abreast of those questions and answers via live updates in this story.

The fifth IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report released just a few months ago made for sobering reading, as it detailed the detrimental global impact of climate change.

Tonight's UCC organised conference - in conjunction with the Environmental Protection Agency and the Environmental Sciences Association of Ireland - will profile the latest scientific research on climate change and will allow attendees to put any questions they might have to a wide group of experts.

The main event of the evening will feature a free screening of the widely acclaimed film ‘Chasing Ice’.
