Gardaí are carrying out a nationwide search for a missing teenage girl who hasn’t been seen since two days before Christmas.

Tammy Duggan, who is 16 and from Macroom, Co Cork, was last seen on Dec 23. The teenager was spotted in the Ballincollig area at approximately 2pm that day and since then, despite an intensive search, there has been only an unconfirmed sighting of a girl matching her description.

That is said to have occurred three days’ ago in the Drogheda area of Co Louth and gardaí are still trying to establish if it was Tammy.

Gardaí have been alerted throughout the country and are keeping a lookout for the missing teenager as well as checking CCTV footage in their areas.

A plea for information about her whereabouts has also been launched through the social media site, Facebook.

According to gardaí, when Tammy was last seen she was wearing black knee-length boots, black leggings, a Zebra-style print skirt, black top and navy puff jacket with a belt.

She is described as being 5ft 2in tall and of petite build. Tammy has brown shoulder-length hair and brown/green eyes.

Gardaí are anxious that she contact them to let them know she is okay.

Meanwhile, they are also appealing for anybody with information about her whereabouts to contact Macroom Garda Station at 026 20590, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
