Man in hospital after armed siege

A man in his 40s was in a serious condition in hospital last night after an armed siege outside a house in south Dublin.

Gardaí said the man suffered a head injury after a stand-off involving a man with a gun in a car at Farrenboley Park, Windy Arbour, Dundrum.

The siege lasted for almost two hours and was brought to an end at 5.20pm.
