Brogan’s festive assignment lights up Kerry airwaves

Bad enough for Kerry to be beaten by the auld enemy in this year’s All-Ireland football championship, but inviting a top Dub to switch on the Christmas lights in the heart of Kingdom has home fans screaming for red cards.

Dublin star Bernard Brogan will turn on the festive lights in Listowel on Friday, to the chagrin of Kerry GAA followers.

The 29-year-old footballer’s mother, Marie Keane Stack, hails from Listowel but that has not satisfied some people who believe strongly that a Kerry player should have been asked to carry out the formality.
