A middle-aged woman has been seriously injured in the second hit-and-run incident in Cork in a matter of days.

Gardaí in Cobh are investigating an incident in which a 52-year-old woman who was out walking yesterday was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop.

The incident took place at around 8.30am at Ballynoe Hill, close to its junction with Tay Rd.
