Cillian and Ryane will each receive a silver medal and certificate of bravery from Dáil Ceann Comhairle Sean Barrett in Farmleigh House for their selfless deed of bravery.
In Aug 2011, Cillian and Ryane made national headlines when they acted swiftly to save two occupants from a fire in an apartment complex.
At the time, both young men, then aged 17, were out celebrating their Leaving Certificate results when they noticed the fire.
They kicked open the main entrance door to the apartment complex where they found a man in the smoke-filled building and dragged him to safety.
When the man said there was another person in the building, Cillian alerted the emergency services while Ryane returned to the premises, using his T-shirt to shield his mouth and nose from the smoke.
Ryane brought the second man safely out of the building just as gardaí and the emergency services arrived.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
In all, 21 Comhairle na Mire Gaile awards will be presented today in recognition of outstanding acts of bravery. Three of the medals to be presented today are silver and eight are bronze.
