Adobe yesterday moved to ease fears among its customers after it emerged that 38m client usernames and encrypted passwords had been stolen by hackers at the start of the month.

On Oct 3, the company, which has an office in Dublin, said credit card information belonging to 2.9m customers had been compromised by the hacking attack.

Yesterday it disclosed that a total of 38m Adobe customer usernames and passwords had been compromised, but said all active users had had their passwords reset, with notifications sent to the user.
