40,000 to swing in for jazz festival

Cork stakes its claim as Europe’s jazz capital this weekend, with some of the world’s biggest names in funk, soul and blues in town for the 35th Guinness Jazz Festival.

Up to 40,000 music fans are expected to enjoy some of the hundreds of gigs over the bank holiday weekend festival, which is worth an estimated €15m to the local economy.
