Pavee Point criticises investigation into removals of Roma children

Pavee Point has hit out at the shape of the investigation into how two Roma children came to be taken from their families in the past week.

The Government yesterday announced the gardaí will compile its information on the Tallaght and Athlone cases and pass it to Justice Minister Alan Shatter, while Frances Fitzgerald, the children’s minister, will receive information from the HSE regarding its actions in both cases.

The information will then be passed on to the Ombudsman for Children, Emily Logan.
