€10m for development of Cork events centre

The Government is to provide a €10m stimulus package to secure the development of a conference and events centre in Cork City.

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said he was confident the scale of investment will finally deliver the long-awaited project, which he predicted could be open by autumn 2015.

“This will be one of the most exciting projects in Cork City for some time, and has the potential to deliver significant private investment too,” he said.
