Historic Cork city street set for major overhaul

A groundbreaking plan to transform one of Cork City’s most historic streets into a vibrant Victorian quarter has been unveiled.

The MacCurtain St Area Action Plan, prepared by and for the MacCurtain Street Traders’ Association, was drafted after detailed consultation with every trader on the street.

It is the first time in nearly 20 years that this “bottom-up” approach to preparing a planning blueprint for a part of the city has been used to guide development.
