TUI teachers must confirm membership to get pay rises

TUI teachers must confirm membership to get pay rises

The Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI) has been on industrial action for the past week after members rejected the public service agreement. The department’s letter to all 730 second-level schools includes a consent form that TUI members at community and comprehensive schools or community colleges must sign if they wish to receive their salary increments.

In addition, TUI members who started working since 2011 can move onto an improved salary scale that will automatically benefit some by €2,500 a year.
