Ex-property tax helpline worker faces 4 charges of deception

A former employee of Abtran, operating the Revenue’s property tax helpline was arrested yesterday and charged with inducing members of the public to give bank card details by deception.

Detective Garda James Bugler arrested Jonathan Gough, aged 22, with an address at De Burgh, Glyntown, Glanmire, Co Cork, at 10.30am yesterday. The formal arrest took place at Cork District Court.

Gough was charged with four counts relating to dates on May 2, 3, 7 and 9 at Abtran, Building Four, University Technology Centre, Curraheen Road, Bishopstown, Cork.
