Alan Farrell: Hopes Sinéad O’Connor will forgive him

A Government TD has publicly and personally apologised to Sinéad O’Connor for describing the singer as being “as mad as a brush” on Twitter following her interview with Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show.

Dublin North TD Alan Farrell yesterday told the Irish Examiner he should not have said it and that he hoped the singer would accept his apology.

He said: “I would like to apologise to you [Sinéad] for any hurt that I caused you by my remark on Twitter last Friday night. I should not have said it, I have deleted the tweet and I hope you will accept my apology.”
