Documentary shows build-up to controversial child pageant

RTÉ has followed the lead of hit US reality show Toddlers & Tiaras by filming a fly-on-the-wall documentary on the explosive build-up to last weekend’s controversial child pageant.

RTÉ’s film crews were given exclusive access to the chaotic scenes leading up to last Saturday’s rearranged event in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan.

They were even on hand to record the moment when organisers were told by management of the Bracken Court hotel in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, that they had decided to cancel the event, forcing pageant chiefs to scramble to find an alternative venue.
