John Cashman, of Gortnalahee, Carrignavar, Co Cork, said yesterday: “I was afraid of my life of them. I got my shotgun. Five minutes later we heard the Caseys coming in the drive. I fired one shot in the air. The car reversed. I fired a second shot in the air.

“They reversed on to the road. They stayed there roaring and shouting for 20 minutes. I was shocked. I was being threatened. My wife was in danger. My child was in danger.”
