Crowds attend murdered mum’s funeral

Shop doors remained closed and window blinds drawn in the Cavan town of Bailieborough as hundreds of mourners gathered for the funeral of mother of four Patricia Kierans, who was found murdered in her Drumbannon home.

Crowds packed St Anne’s Church to pay their final respects.

Beside the coffin three items were placed — a bingo card representing Ms Kierans’ love for entertainment; an accordion for her passion of music; and a Padre Pio card, depicting her deep faith.
