Plans by the Government to ensure a €10bn “safety net” emergency credit line is available once Ireland exits troika financial control could amount to a second bailout, Sinn Féin has warned.

At the party’s one-day planning meeting in Louth, SF leader Gerry Adams expressed alarm at the move by Finance Minister Michael Noonan.

Mr Adams insisted that the full details of what obligations would be placed on Ireland, if the Government needed to draw down the money, must be made public.
