Mental Health Minister Kathleen Lynch had no input in the decision to fly her by air ambulance from Donegal to Cork in late July after she suffered a serious medical mishap.

The senior Labour figure was rushed from one end of the country to the other while on an official visit to Letterkenny General Hospital due to a serious septicaemia-related condition.

Ms Lynch, who first contracted the blood-poisoning illness last year, was originally treated at Cork University Hospital’s intensive care unit.
