Investigation begun as transplant patient dies at festival

An investigation has been launched after a student was found dead at the Electric Picnic music festival.

Phil McConnell, 20, from Malahide, Dublin, was believed to be one of the youngest heart transplant patients in the country.

He was found dead at a campsite near the festival site at the stradbally hall estate at around 1.45am on saturday. he was pronounced dead later at portlaoise hospital.
