Global viewers tune into horse show
Interest in the show spread from Tokyo in Japan, to Mississippi in the US, and across Europe, including the Austrian capital Vienna, Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands.
Yesterday, a viewer in South Korea logged on to view the stream.
âWe had close to a 1,000 people tuning in this week,â said the showâs press officer Tadgh Ryan.
âIn effect, this was only a test run, so we are delighted the service attracted such a geographical spread.
âWe plan to expand the service next year, in line with expected further growth of the show.
âCuriously, even though the show is free to enter, some locals in Millstreet chose on Friday night to watch competitions in their local pub, which was availing of the live-streaming service.â
The show attracted more than 1,800 equines to the north Cork venue and was deemed a huge success.
