Ambulance response report delayed to autumn

A HSE report into why an ambulance failed to attend the scene of a dying boy who fell from an upstairs window will not be published until “mid-autumn” at the earliest.

An ambulance which was travelling to the scene of the tragedy after an emergency call was called off just minutes later — and is believed to have driven past the car bringing the badly injured toddler to the hospital.

Officials have confirmed the investigation into the death of toddler Vakaris Martinaitis in Midleton, east Cork — which was meant to be published by the end of July — has suffered unspecified delays.
