Toll road operator’s profit up despite fall in traffic

The operators of the €295m Rathcormac-Fermoy bypass in Co Cork saw an increase in profits last year, despite less motorists using the route.

Accounts filed by Directroute (Fermoy) Ltd show increased pre-tax profits from €964,909 to €1.04m in the 12 months to the end of December.

Profits rose in spite of revenues decreasing 2% from €15.8m to €15.5m.
