Hit-and-run driver had heart of stone, says widow

The grieving widow of a 42-year-old cyclist killed in a hit and run a year ago said the driver who left her husband to die at the side of the road had a “heart of stone”.

Margaret O’Leary said she and her four children were still “shell-shocked’’ and there was a terrible void in the family.

Gardaí believe Paud O’Leary, of Leamaglissane, Gneeveguilla, Co Kerry, was knocked down by a charcoal grey Toyota Land Cruiser, on Jul 1, 2012, while he was training for the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle.
