Man jailed for attempted sex assault and robbery

Garda Ann O’Flynn said Piotr Bartczak, aged 53, was extradited from Poland to Ireland last week to appear at Cork Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing yesterday.

Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin described him as, “a significant menace to women and a danger to society.” He jailed him for three years for the crimes, the most serious of which was a robbery, the judge said. Garda O’Flynn said this happened at 7.15pm on Feb 7, 2011, when the 62-year-old injured party was walking to a night class.
