A Co Cork comhaltas group had property stolen and burned, just days before a planned performance before European heads of state.

The property, including chairs and a wheelbarrow, was removed from a trailer parked on the grounds of Youghal Comhaltas at its headquarters on Magners Hill. The items were later burned at a bonfire.

The incident occurs as the branch prepares to fly to Luxembourg on Thursday to perform at a concert marking the end of Ireland’s European Presidency.
