Woman on baby harm charges

A 32-year-old mother of two appeared at Cavan District Court yesterday on charges of intentionally or recklessly causing harm to a 10-month-old girl on Mar 28 last year.

Sandra Higgins of the Beeches in Cavan town was arrested at 8.05am yesterday and taken to Cavan Garda Station and then to the court where she was remanded on €500 bail under certain conditions.

The charges relate to an occasion when the defendant was babysitting a neighbour’s child in the defendant’s home.
