Man charged in chute body case

A 26-year-old man was charged with a count of assault causing harm following the investigation into the body of a homeless man found dumped in a refuse chute in Cork earlier this month.

Detective Garda Katrine Tansley arrested David O’Loughlin and charged him with assault causing harm to Liam Manley, 59, at City Gate Apartments, North Main St, Cork, on May 12.

A maintenance man who went to clear rubbish which had built up in the chute discovered Mr Manley’s body in the chute at City Gate Apartments on May 13.
