Dónal Walsh was laid to rest with mourners told he was little short of a miracle worker, with his words on cancer and warnings against suicide just part of a legacy hewn from almost 17 years of life that were lived to the full.

Hundreds of people packed St John’s Church in the centre of Tralee, Co Kerry, yesterday with many more listening outside as the 16-year-old was laid to rest, following his death on Sunday.
