A 15-year-old who ordered a householder to strip naked as a kettle of boiling water was thrown at him during a burglary, asked for bail yesterday so he could go fishing and mountain climbing and come home from custody at weekends.

Judge Patrick J Moran made an order yesterday that the juvenile could be identified. Luke Taylor, of Cherry Lawn, Blackrock, was before Cork Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing for the aggravated burglary while armed with a knife and assault causing harm to a 36-year-old householder.

The crime was committed on Dec 16, 2012, at Cedar Row, Rope Walk, Blackrock, Cork. Judge Moran put sentencing back until Jun 26 and remanded Taylor in detention at a juvenile centre.
