Even if there is a rare burst of warm sunshine over Ireland this holiday weekend, more than one-third of Irish people will not use sun protection.

A study has found that 36% of adults never wear sun protection in Ireland, with almost half believing the Irish sun is not that strong. Almost one in four said they found sun protection difficult to apply.

The research was published to highlight Melanoma Awareness Month, a campaign to create awareness of skin cancer.
