Angry locals have demanded that Galway County Council act immediately to provide a footpath and public lighting at the spot where a teenage girl lost her life.

Leah Ní Fheinne, 15, from Clynagh, Carraroe, Co Galway, was killed on Wednesday night when she was struck by a passing car close to the well-known Tí Terry pub at Rossaveal.

Ms Ní Fheinne, an only child, was the third person to be killed on the stretch of road in the past two years.
