Prolific bank-robbing Irish man gets 5 years in US jail

Irishman Adam Lynch, a self-confessed prolific bank robber, has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years in a US federal prison after pleading guilty to a string of hold-ups.

However, when the 36-year-old, originally from north Dublin, completes that sentence, he faces more time in another state as he is accused of at least 10 further bank robberies.

In total, Lynch, the so-called Ho Hum Bandit, has been linked to 24 bank robberies in three states in the space of a year.
