Property Tax bill for entire barracks

A soldier in Dundalk has been sent a Property Tax bill for an entire army barracks.

The bill was for “Cathal Brugha Barracks” in Dublin and it listed the serving member of the Defence Forces as the “owner or person liable”, for the tax.

The Department of Defence confirmed “the barracks is owned by this Department,” while the Defence Forces Press Office was directing all queries to the Revenue Commissioners who issued the estimate.
