Evidence ready in case linked to RIRA murder

The State is ready to serve its evidence on a man accused of withholding information from gardaí investigating the murder of Real IRA leader Alan Ryan, a judge has heard.

Ryan, a 32-year-old dissident republican, was shot in the body, legs, and head by a masked gunman on Sep 3 while walking along Grange Lodge Avenue, in Clongriffin, Dublin, near his home.

On Oct 25, unemployed father-of-one Robert Carroll, 27, from Ard Cluain, Clonee, Co Meath, appeared at Dublin District Court charged under section 9 of the Offences Against the State Act. He made no reply when charged and was granted bail of €30,300, which he has since taken up.
