Taoiseach Enda Kenny has refused opposition requests to reconvene the Moriarty Tribunal to probe new financial allegations swirling around disgraced TD, Michael Lowry.

Taoiseach has ‘no intention of reopening tribunal’

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin urged the Taoiseach to intervene in the matter after fresh claims surfaced regarding Lowry.

Mr Martin said newspaper reports of a phone conversation in which it is alleged that Mr Lowry referred to an apparent payment of up to £250,000 sterling, he made to Tyrone land agent Kevin Phelan, raised serious concerns.
