Police in one of the world’s poorest countries are investigating the murder of a 32-year-old Irishman whose company 4x4 was hijacked by his killers a short distance from his work compound.

William Deasy, from Dublin Pike, Cork was working for Clonmel-based Kentz Engineers & Contractors when he went missing in Mozambique.

He left the company’s base at Moma, on Mozambique’s coast, in his 4x4 on Friday.
